Imin Yeh is an interdisciplinary project-based artist working in sculpture, installation, participatory events, and printmaking projects that try to involve the viewer in a more critical dialogue about the invisible labor and the stories behind the objects we consume.  Recent projects included a 2012 commission from the San Jose Museum of Art and a solo show in 2011 at the Mission Cultural Center Gallery in San Francisco.  In 2010 she had two solo shows including Pro Arts Gallery in Oakland, CA, and 18 Reasons Gallery in San Francisco.  Her work has been exhibited in San Francisco at the Asian Art Museum, San Francisco’s Arts Commission Gallery, Intersection for the Arts, Pro Arts Gallery, and Southern Exposure.  Yeh was included in the Zero1 Biennial in San Jose, CA, and has been an artist-in-residence at Montalvo Art Center in Saratoga, CA, and Blue Mountain Center in Blue Mountain, NY, and at the Sandarbh Artist Workshop in Partapur, Rajasthan India.  Yeh has an MFA from California College for the Arts and has received an Individual Artist Grant from the San Francisco Arts Commission, a Murphy and Cadogan exhibition award from San Francisco’s SOMArts, and the Barclay Simpson Award from California College of the Arts.  She is an adjunct lecturer at San Jose State University and will be participating in an upcoming residency at Recology in San Francisco. *Artist biography at time of award.
