Yoon Lee is a painter who makes large scale paintings that employ a painstaking process that erects a facade of ease. She has had solo exhibitions at Pierogi gallery in New York and the Luggage Store Gallery in San Francisco. Recent group exhibitions include Boiler Grand Opening: Yoon Lee, Jonathan Shipper, Tavares Strachan at Pierogi’s new Boiler space, Artisterium at ARCI gallery in Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia, Vital Signs at Newcomb Art Gallery at Tulane University, Pierogi et al at Daniel Weinberg Gallery in Los Angeles, Future Tense: Reshaping the Landscape at Neuberger Museum and Red Hot at Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. Her work has been reviewed in L Magazine, New York Magazine, the Brooklyn Rail, Paper Magazine and the San Francisco Chronicle, among others. She received her BA in Visual Art from the University of California, San Diego (1999), and her MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute (2005).
